Meet the Osteopaths

Hugo Pereira
Originally from Portugal, Hugo moved to Lismore to study osteopathy at Southern Cross University. Having fallen in love with the Northern Rivers, he decided to grow roots in the area and upon completing his studies he joined Lismore Osteopathy.
Hugo has a background in remedial massage, which he practiced for over 15 years. This experience has given him an acute appreciation for the relationship between tight muscles, stiffness and restricted movement, and the pain and discomfort they cause.
No stranger to debilitating, chronic back pain and injuries himself, Hugo knows how important it is to care of the body with the help of osteopathic care, which is precisely the reason that led him to study osteopathic medicine.
There’s nothing Hugo enjoys more than caring for his patients and help them improve their physical condition, not only with the use of manual techniques during the treatment but also with advice on posture, corrective exercises and tips on how to improve sleep, hydration and recovery from everyday wear and tear.
When he’s not working you might find him at the local mountain bike track, the Duck Creek Mountain Bike Park, or if the waves are good Flat Rock is one of his favourite spots.

Josh Paterson
Born in Sydney, Dr Josh Paterson-Allsop moved to the Sunshine Coast with his family where he grew up around the beautiful beaches of Noosa.
Dr Josh has had a keen interest in exercise and holistic manual therapy since his early 20’s. His passion for understanding the human body and it’s optimal movement patterns saw him move to the Northern Rivers to pursue this as a career. Dr Josh graduated with a Master’s Degree in Osteopathic Medicine and a Bachelors of Sport and Exercise Science at Southern Cross University.
After working from a busy clinic in the Sunshine Coast for an extended period of time, Dr Josh has moved back to the Northern Rivers to bring his holistic approach to health back to his local community.
Dr Josh uses a broad range of manual therapy techniques with tailored exercise prescription to treat many conditions. He has a particular interest in both chronic/acute lower back pain, headaches/migraines, and rehabilitation following injury.

Bryce O’Hara
Dr Bryce O’Hara graduated in 2020 with a degree in Osteopathic Medicine and went on to complete three years of mentoring and working with Dr John Abdulla in the central coast, further developing his understanding of biodynamic osteopathic practice and patient-centred care.
His treatment style combines both direct and indirect techniques tailored to the needs of each individual patient to achieve the best possible long-term outcomes. Utilising a systematic and whole bodied approach to assessment and diagnosis, focused on identifying the core issues impacting function, pain, and overall health. Depending on the patient and their presentation, treatment may include a combination of Osteopathic Manual Therapy (OMT), HVLA, indirect and biodynamic techniques, dry needling, massage therapy, and exercise prescription. His goal is always to create and enact a Treatment plan that helps you become pain-free, and functional, so you can get back to enjoying life.
Dr Bryce is returning to Lismore after overcoming some health challenges, which have given him a deeper appreciation and understanding of his patients wellbeing and the importance of being able to return to the things in life you enjoy doing . Outside the clinic, he can be found spending time with friends, sharing a good meal, training , or simply relaxing and recharging at home.
